One more week to go before we start our new adventure. And by we, lets be clear, I mean the dog and I.
Mr Darcy, from now on we just going to name him either The Dog or Darcy, has been a big part of my life over the last three years from the moment my partner Lesley got really sick almost over night. So sick that eventually she ended up in long term care. As you possibly can understand it has been a rough and exhausting time.
But then there was Darcy. He is not only a great traveler, but also a fantastic hugger. As a really good boy he just seems to sense when his mommy needs some cuddles or needs some playtime with a ball. Or is that the other way around? Anyway, Darcy provided light in the darkness and I can’t wait to pay him back a little with some wonderful adventures.
So he is going to be my copilot during a our first road trip with our Class C together that will bring is from Utah in the south to Yellowstone National Park back up north.
Darcy and I live in a wonderful small community on Vancouver Island. It means whenever we want to go on a Big Trip we have to leave the Island and the only way we can is by ferry.
This time we chose the Washington State ferry leaving from Victoria. It is for me a more convenient way. Also we know we can have a good night sleep on the parking lot of Walmart, the company that is so gracious to let weary travelers use their facilities over night. It is really appreciated.
The last couple of weeks i have been busy preparing. New batteries were installed. Also a new windshield after a logging truck whipped up a rock as big as Mount Baker and wrecked the old one.
Other than that I upgraded to a new entertainment center with CarPlay, a backup camera and a front facing camera. And because I could, also a a new GoPro to keep the family in the loop with some live feeds during our hopefully uneventful but mind blowing trip.
